Pet Sitting Industry Consulting
Erin spent seven years as a part-time pet sitter for one of the largest pet sitting companies in the country--because she simply loved animals and wanted to make extra money to pay for a housekeeper (true story). This industry experience and inside perspective became invaluable as she began working with her first pet sitting company as a small business consultant in 2011. Since then, Erin has worked with many other pet sitting company business owners around the country in a consultative capacity.
Erin is known for teaching her clients how to read their business financials and encouraging them to watch their KPIs: their key performance indicators. In the pet sitting industry KPIs include revenue, labor costs/margins, and the number of new clients a business gets each month (amongst others). Erin also helps her pet sitting industry clients step back from the day-to-day issues they face running their business and encourages them to look at the big picture whenever possible. Developing long term perspective is essential to great decision-making. Erin consults on pricing issues, marketing messaging, referral programs, website design and operational issues, amongst other industry areas.
She is regularly called on for public speaking engagements, asked to do webinars, and write articles as a pet sitting industry expert.
Erin is also a certified dog trainer, and regularly volunteers for animal-related causes. She is a former board member of the Humane Society of Dallas County, and considers herself an equal opportunity animal lover.
